We are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for a thriving construction contractor in County Tyrone. The company deliver residential and commercial build projects within Northern Ireland.

Quantity Surveyor 

  • Visit all sites on a weekly basis in order to track progress
  • Keep track of all labour, plant, tools, materials used on each project
  • Carry out on-site measurements of works
  • Regular contact with suppliers and sub-contractors on a daily basis
  • Procurement and management of sub-contractors
  • Preparation and processing of quotations, bids and tenders
  • Prepare, negotiate and analyse costs for tenders and contracts
  • Liaise with clients, sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure information, costs, profitability and value meet the requirements of each project through to final accounts
  • Manage and maintain a contract cost reporting system ensuring all financial records are up-to-date and on track within client and project budget/tender/commitment demands
  • Monitor and control all stages of projects within predetermined budget and expenditure
  • Measure and value completed work and variations in work during contracts, for agreement of interim payments and the final account
  • Perform risk and value management, cost control and reporting
  • Contract administration

 

Quantity Surveyor Criteria 

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post qualification experience working as a QS
  • Full driving licence
  • Experience within the building/construction industry
  • Experience in assisting and/or managing commercial/residential projects
  • Experience in measurement
  • Procurement and finalisation of sub-contractors experience required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Effective time and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative
